Costs

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine was passed down as an art that masters practiced toward serving their community. In ancient times. practitioners were paid only when the patient was cured or healed. Although that practice is not supported in the Western world, Shen Bai Acupuncture of Santa Monica strives to offer the cost-effective acupuncture for residents of West Los Angeles and Santa Monica because I believe in making this medicine available to anyone. When acupuncture is used routinely, it can help prevent disease and maintain health. We will work with patients who want to come regularly as part of their personal health insurance to make routine treatments affordable. We also offer discounts for seniors and others on fixed incomes.

This price includes infrared heat, moxibustion, cupping, and/or e-stimulation if used or appropriate. Your acupuncture treatment is one hour and you have my full attention during that time.

Insurance

Most patients do not know that their health insurance often covers acupuncture services for the treatment of pain.  Shen Bai Acupuncture accepts all insurance policies that cover acupuncture services, and we are happy to contact your insurance company for you to find out if they do.

We are an in-network provider with Blue Shield of California, PacifiCare, United Health Care, and Great West Insurance.  We are currently in the process of becoming an in-network provider for Aetna. We will gladly accept and bill your insurance for treatment from Anthem Blue Cross, Motion Picture Industries, and others. Generally, with these insurance policies, you will need to be enrolled in a PPO plan for out of network coverage.

Herbs

Shen Bai Acupuncture has a completely stocked raw herb pharmacy and has homemade and commercially-prepared preparations for decoctions (teas), ointments, and powders.  Not all patients receive herbs. Shen Bai Acupuncture tries to encourage simple health rituals with food that a patient can adopt easily into their routines and may also direct patients to purchase specific pastes or other formulas as necessary from online vendors directly. Prices for herbs range from $8 to $30.00.
